Boys & Girls Clubs members show off ‘The Art of Connection’ in VCTC’s annual transportation-themed competition

CAMARILLO, Calif. – For the fifth straight year, colorful artwork by members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Ventura County are decorating the sides of Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) Intercity buses.

VCTC has partnered with the Boys & Girls clubs for an art contest since 2019.

VCTC provides small grants to the clubs to purchase supplies for members to create their works of art based on a theme selected by VCTC. The theme for the 2023 contest was “The Art of Connection: Getting Around by Bus, by Bike and by Foot!”

Each club selected the winning artwork, which was then used to create a decal that was placed in the window of a VCTC bus. The artwork will be in place for several months.

VCTC sends its appreciation to the following clubs for their collaboration on the project: Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Conejo Valley, Boys & Girls Club of Moorpark & Simi Valley, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Oxnard and Port Hueneme, Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clara Valley and Boys & Girls Club of Greater Ventura.
