Getting There

Public transportation is highly recommended for this event. Special service has been added by several transit operators to accommodate the event.

Metrolink

Metrolink is also offering affordable options to take the train such as its $15 Summer Day Pass which provides unlimited rides on one weekday of travel throughout the Metrolink system. Metrolink also offers a $10 Weekend Day Pass which is available for purchase only on Saturday or Sunday and is good for unlimited systemwide travel either Saturday or Sunday and is accepted for free transfers to connecting transit services, except Amtrak. Metrolink passengers riding between the Ventura – East and Ventura – Downtown/Beach stations do not need a ticket and can ride the Metrolink trains free of charge to and from the event. AMTRAK Pacific Surfliner

The Amtrak Pacific Surfliner provides five round trips to the fairgrounds station and will add an additional southbound evening trip to accommodate the event. There is a bike car that can accommodate eight bikes. Reservations must be made ahead of time. The Pacific Surfliner is offering discounted tickets to take the train to the X Games when you book through their website, click here.

Ventura County is filled with bike routes leading to the Ventura County Fairgrounds. X Games will allow visitors to check their bikes at the gate. Spectators can combine riding their bikes with transit. Transit operators allow bike storage onboard!

Trips on all local buses can be paid for on the VCbuspass app or with exact change. Riders who use VCbuspass to pay for their fare will receive a 10% discount per trip. All Ventura County college students ride free through the College Ride Program (Ventura College, Oxnard College, Moorpark College, CSU Channel Islands, Cal Lutheran, UC Santa Barbara, and Santa Barbara City College, and youths 18 and under ride free through the Youth Ride Free Program. VCTC is extending routes and increasing service during the X Games! The routes that will get you to the X Games will come from Santa Barbara/Carpinteria via the Coastal Express route, Fillmore/Santa Paula via the Highway 126 route, and Thousand Oaks via Camarillo and Oxnard via the Highway 101 route.

Gold Coast serves Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Ventura and the County of Ventura. Routes 6 and 16 provide service nearby to the event. For more information, visit Gold Coast Transit’s website.

If you’re coming from somewhere close by, consider walking to the X Games! The fairgrounds connect to several walking paths (check Google to plan your walk). The city will place lighting along the Promenade to increase visibility at night.

Freeway Service Patrol

To help with freeway traffic issues, Freeway Service Patrol tow trucks will be roving the freeways to assist cars that need tire help, gas, etc.
