VCTC receives 2026 SDRMA Excellence in Safety Award
CAMARILLO, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2026) – The Ventura County Transportation Commission (VCTC) has received the 2026 Excellence in Safety Award for the Property/Liability Program from the Special District Risk Management Authority (SDRMA).
VCTC was selected in recognition of its exceptional loss history, including no paid claims over the past five years, and earning 10 Credit Incentive Points (CIPs) during the 2025–2026 program year.
This is the first time VCTC has received the award, which was presented at the California Special Districts Association Annual Conference on Aug. 26 in Palm Desert.
“Receiving this award for the first time from the SDRMA for no paid claims for five years reflects VCTC’s leadership and commitment to safeguarding taxpayer dollars while keeping Ventura County moving,” said VCTC Executive Director Martin Erickson.
SDRMA’s mission is to provide excellent risk financing and risk management services through a financially sound pool to California public agencies, delivered in a timely and responsible cost-efficient manner. SDRMA staff are committed to the organization’s founding values of quality service, fiscal integrity and stability, and member-focused programs that maximize protection and minimize risk.
Each year, the SDRMA Board of Directors selects four members to receive the Excellence in Safety Award, a large and small member for the Property/Liability Program and Workers’ Compensation Program, respectively. Award recipients are recognized for their exceptional loss history, active participation in SDRMA’s Credit Incentive Program, and other selection criteria.
